Platte County Sheriff Richard Anderson and Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zhand give their endorsement of the Northland Coalition regarding the problem of increasing incidents of underage drinking in Platte County. The Park Hill Community Alliance for Youth (CAFY) works closely with the Northland Coalition to provide educational and prevention resources to schools and parents in addressing drug and underage drinking issues. We encourage our parents to participate in either the Northland Coalition or preferably, the CAFY, which is focused entirely on the youth within the Park Hill School District. Recently, Leah Panther, Speech and Publications teacher here at Lakeview, gave her students an assignment of creating characters and stories that could translate into a children's book. Leah's classes got the attention of The Chronicle Book Blog, a website that encourages and recognizes talent in writing children's books. They were so impressed with the project and student writings, they were featured on their website. Click here to check it out! |

Saturday, May 12, the Lakeview MasterClass Choir, under the direction of Brian Bellof, performed at Six-Flags St. Louis, Midwest Music Festival. These wonderful choirsters were filled with pride when the announcer called Lakeview MasterClass as the First Place Winner in the Middle School Mixed Choir Division for the third year in a row. The kids excitement became deafening when the announcer called Lakeview MasterClass as the Grand Champion of all Middle School/Jr. High competitors. Lakeview was one of seven competing choirs in their division, 12 choirs overall. Lakeview's Superior rating trumped 35 of 37 ensembles (bands, orchestras, choirs), out scored only by two high school bands and only by 3/4 of a point. This year marks the eighth year in a row of recognizing these young teens with "superior" ratings and fifth year of "Best Overall" choir which verifies the tradition of the excellence in the vocal music program at the Park Hill School District's, Lakeview Middle School. |
