High School Student Artists Earn Honors

PHHS art teacher Rachel Hubbard’s work was chosen for the Statewide Juried Art Exhibition for Secondary Teachers and Students, allowing her to choose three student artists for the show. She chose Paige Harberts, Katelyn Robey and Isabella Torri. The exhibit runs until Nov. 16 at Missouri State University. 

PHHS artists also earned acceptance into the Merriam High School Visual Arts Competition. Art pieces from Johnna Arnold, Katelyn Robey, Ashlyn Hanson, Isabella Torri and Jennifer Claytor were chosen from 1,355 entries from around the Kansas City region. The exhibit runs from Dec. 6-29 at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery, 5701 Merriam Drive, Merriam, Kansas.

Park Hill South students’ artwork received Artistic Excellence Awards at Missouri Western State University’s Visual Arts Day 2018. The students are Eliana Rosario, Katelynn Thompson, Kyndall Allen, Maya Yildirim, Sadie Franklin, Stephen Quattlebaum, Sydney Warren and Trinity McConnell.
