District Teachers Named Outstanding Beginning Teachers
This is the image for the news article titled District Teachers Named Outstanding Beginning TeachersThe Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE) named Margarita Araiza and Annie Bock as two of Missouri’s Outstanding Beginning Teachers. They both teach at Congress Middle School. The ceremony was virtual this year due to COVID-19, but MACTE mailed Bock and Araiza their award packets.
Students and staff at Congress know Araiza for her inviting classroom environment, engaging lessons and classroom management. She works hard to build meaningful relationships with her students. Because she is so reliable, she has become Congress’s go-to person for projects and she often volunteers her time outside of the classroom to benefit each student.

Bock earned the Global Vision scholarship in college, traveled to Tanzania to support literacy efforts, and carried that same passion for education with her to Congress. Students and staff at Congress know Bock for her classroom organization, positivity and willingness to help support each of her students.

MACTE is a state affiliate of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and represents the educator preparation programs across the state. The Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards recognize teachers in their first two years of service who demonstrate excellence in serving children in school districts across Missouri.
