About Me:

I am the father of four children who currently attend Park Hill schools. My wife’s family has resided in the district since 1984, and we returned in 2002, just in time for our oldest daughter to start kindergarten at Chinn.

My professional experience spans accounting, finance, sales, marketing and operations. I have improved the bottom lines of many companies that span multiple industries. Over the past 12 years my focus has been health care, and I am currently the VP of sales for a national third-party administrator based in Dallas, Tex.

Community service is part of my DNA. I am an avid supporter of many non-profit organizations, most of which are affiliated with my children, but others, like Harvesters, Kendallwood Hospice, Junior Achievement and Truman, that benefit our broader community.

A product of a public school education, I graduated from Parkway South High School in St. Louis, MO with honors and almost two years of college credit. I attended Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., triple majoring in business administration, biology and economics. I received my MBA from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in Dallas, Tex. I am a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

The Best Thing About the Park Hill Schools:

Park Hill patrons are proud of the sense of community that permeates our district. No single factor impacts the achievement of our children more than parental involvement, but in Park Hill we have the convergence of committed teachers, parents and patrons – a true community partnership. Our high-quality, committed educators, extremely involved parents and supportive patrons work in concert to support the mission of the district and to foster a culture of learning that is the best in the state.

The Most Rewarding Experience as a Member of the Board:

The most rewarding experience as a member of the Board is being witness to the altruistic contributions that are made daily for the good of the children and our community, and of the resultant achievements. Every day I grow increasingly optimistic about the future of our community due to the accomplishments, passion and creativity of our students.

Critical Issues Facing Park Hill :

Three trends that will have the greatest impact on the Park Hill School District that Board members will need to address:
  • Looming Budget Shortfalls: Funding of public education is being severely impacted by shrinking state and local revenues.
  • Changing Demography: Park Hill’s socio-economic diversity is increasing creating disparities that left unattended could be divisive to our community.
  • Student Achievement: Despite our high-achieving schools, we cannot become complacent. We must continually improve and invest in innovative approaches to insure that education our children receive is rigorous and relevant.
