School Health Wellness Advisory Council
SHWAC Mission - Park Hill School District SHWAC members provide input to support a comprehensive school health and wellness program for all Park Hill students that reflects current health research and focuses on the needs of the Whole Child. To address the Whole Child, we must consider the child’s cognitive, physical, behavioral, social and emotional health.
Park Hill School District’s School Health and Wellness Advisory Council (SHWAC) is an on-going advisory group composed of select individuals that represent important factors of our Park Hill Community, including students, parents, teachers, administrators, school board members, support staff and community partners.
Park Hill holds two SHWAC meetings per year to report to our community what is going on with our Park Hill programs associated with health and wellness, and to receive feedback to help guide our programs. If you are interested in joining the Park Hill School District SHWAC, please reach out to Tammy Saylor, Director of Health Services at 816-359-6641, or Grennan Sims, Director of Nutrition Services at 816-359-4090.
The Park Hill School Health and Wellness Council utilizes the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model which allows for greater alignment, integration, and collaboration between education and health to improve each child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
