Overview of AI in Park Hill
Park Hill School District supports the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to support learning, creativity, and productivity—while maintaining clear expectations around privacy, academic integrity, and responsible use.
AI is intended to supplement instruction and learning, not replace the work of educators or students. Expectations for AI use apply to both staff and students and are designed to promote safe, ethical, and transparent practices.
What Is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to computer systems designed to perform specific tasks that typically require human intelligence. AI has been used for many years in everyday technologies such as smartphone facial recognition, virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa, and recommendation systems on websites and apps.
Generative AI (GenAI) is a newer type of AI that can create original content, such as text, images, music, or ideas, by learning patterns from existing data. In educational settings, GenAI may be used to support brainstorming, practice, feedback, and exploration—when used appropriately and with guidance.
