Schoology is a digital learning platform used in Park Hill classrooms to organize classwork and support instruction. Teachers may use Schoology to share materials, assign and collect work, give assessments, and support student collaboration in a secure online environment.
In Park Hill School District, Schoology is used in middle school and high school. In grades second through fifth, teachers may use either Schoology or Seesaw, depending on instructional needs.
A Schoology parent account provides read‑only access to your child’s learning information. Families can view classroom content and activity but cannot submit work or participate in assignments on behalf of a student.
Schoology supports family awareness and communication, but it may not reflect every classroom activity. For questions about specific assignments, grading practices, or course expectations, families should contact their student’s teacher directly.
Schoology is not the official system of record for grades and attendance. Families should refer to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for the most accurate and up‑to‑date grade and attendance information.
Parents and guardians access Schoology using a Parent Access Code from the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This code connects your Schoology account to your student’s courses.
Please note that not all teachers use Schoology or use it to the same extent. If you have questions about how Schoology is used in a specific class, contact your student’s teacher.
What You’ll Need
Parent Access Code (found in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal)
A valid email address to create your Schoology account
Enter the Schoology Access Code you copied from Infinite Campus and select Continue.
Enter your name, email address, and password.
Select Register to complete account setup.
Once signed in, you can view your student’s courses and activity by clicking on your name in the top-right-hand corner and selecting your student's name.
Access Codes for Multiple Students
Each student has a unique Schoology Access Code. You do not need to create multiple Schoology accounts. Multiple students can be added to a single parent account using their unique Schoology Access Codes.
In Infinite Campus Parent:
Use the student name menu in the upper‑right corner to view additional students' access codes.
The sections below explain how parents and guardians can use a Schoology parent account to view information, manage settings, and stay informed about their child’s learning.
What Families Can View in Schoology
In Schoology, families can view:
Courses your child is enrolled in
Announcements shared by teachers or the school
Upcoming assignments and due dates (when used by the teacher)
Student submissions and activity
Important: Schoology is not the official source for grades or attendance. Families should refer to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for the most accurate and up‑to‑date grade and attendance information.
Navigating Schoology
Once you are signed in, the top navigation bar helps you move through Schoology. From this menu, families can access key areas such as Courses, Groups, and Resources.
Selecting Schoology Learning will return you to your home page, where you can view the Recent Activity feed. This area displays class updates and activity in chronological order, making it easier to follow what’s new.
When you are viewing your primary Schoology parent account (your name selected, not your child’s name), icons for messages and notifications appear in the top navigation bar. These alerts provide access to communication and updates related to you or your child’s school.
You can also select your name in the top‑right corner to view your profile and account options.
Viewing Your Child’s Activity
To view student‑specific information, select your child’s name from the menu in the upper‑right corner. Depending on how a teacher uses Schoology, families may see some or all of the following areas:
Student activity, showing recent submissions and updates
Course enrollments, listing the classes your child is enrolled in
If grades are not entered in Schoology, grade values may appear blank
Selecting a course opens details such as assignments, tests, discussions, and materials
Groups, showing any school, class, or extracurricular groups your child is part of
Grade reports, allowing families to view assignment‑level grades when used
Calendar views, showing past and upcoming assignments or events
To‑do lists, displaying upcoming or overdue assignments
Recently completed items, showing completed work and activities
Not all sections will contain information if a teacher does not use that feature.
Managing Account Settings and Notifications
Parents and guardians can manage basic account information and communication preferences through Account Settings in their Schoology parent account.
From Account Settings, families can:
Update their email address
Change their password
Manage notification and communication preferences
To access Account Settings, select your name in the upper‑right corner of the screen and choose Settings from the menu.
NOtifications
Adjusting notification settings helps families stay informed about their child’s activity in Schoology without receiving more alerts than desired. Within Account Settings, families can select Notifications to open the Notifications area of their account. In the Notifications area, parents and guardians can:
Choose which types of activity notifications they receive
Select how notifications are delivered
Opt in to receive text message notifications, if available
Be sure to select Save Changes after updating notification preferences.
Parent Email Digest
Schoology offers a Parent Email Digest that summarizes a student’s activity and is delivered by email.
To receive a Parent Email Digest, families must first select the individual student for whom they want to receive the digest. This is done from the name menu in the upper‑right corner of the screen. When a student is selected, a check mark appears next to their name.
After selecting the student:
Choose Settings.
Select Notifications.
Select 'On' for Email Summary.
Choose daily or weekly delivery.
Select preferred days and times.
Enable alerts for overdue assignments, if desired.
Be sure to select Save Changes after updating preferences.
Because teachers use Schoology in different ways, the Parent Email Digest may not include every assignment, grade, or activity.
