This program improves student behavior, maximizes instructional time and increases student engagement. 

Union Chapel is among only 11 schools in the Kansas City, Missouri, area to earn the gold level of recognition, which it has received three years in a row. Union Chapel earned silver designation in 2016 and bronze in 2014, and it is in its 10th year of implementation. Staff members’ efforts include using engaging lessons to teach expectations, using small symbolic rewards to connect good behavior to success, organizing groups to build social skills and using staff feedback to improve the positive behavior support process as a whole and on the individual student level.
