We allow private lessons at our facility.  Please sign-up for a lane as if you were going to swim laps. If you are doing private lessons, please make a note of that and how many students. No more than TWO students per instructor. A membership will be needed or daily admission paid for all participants entering the water.  We do not allow private lessons on Tuesday and Thursday nights due to group swim lessons.  Private lessons are not allowed during any of our group swim lessons.  Please see below for when those classes are happening.

We’re excited to share an update to how lap swim reservations are managed at the Park Hill Aquatic Center. Beginning April 6, daily lap swim lane reservations will move from SignUpGenius to Sportsman, our membership and facility reservation system. 

This change allows us to manage reservations in one central location, creating a more consistent experience for our patrons - one account, one system. It also allows lap swim reservations to be opened more than a week at a time and enables our staff to provide real-time updates on lane availability more efficiently. 

Please note one important change: due to a system limitation, an Aquatic Center membership is required to reserve a lap lane online through Sportsman. If you are not a member and would like to reserve a lane, no problem — beginning April 6, simply call us at (816) 359-4080, and our staff will be happy to assist you with a reservation over the phone. 

Children will be allowed to come and swim with parents, but ALL patrons must stay in their assigned lanes. We are going to set a two-hour block limit per day to provide opportunities for all patrons to use the facility. 

We have 1-2 sign-ups per lane available each hour. If you are going to have more than one person swim during that time, only one sign-up will be required. All patrons wanting to swim in that lane must arrive together. Please do not sign-up for more than two time blocks per day. 

1. On this website, access Sportsman.  

2. Select Lap Swim Reservations from the lefthand menu or by using the icon on the main page. 

3. Choose Lap Swim from the list.  

4. Select Check Availability & Reserve.  

5. A calendar will appear:  

• Green dates indicate availability 

• Red dates indicate no availability 

6. Choose a date, then select an available time.  

7. Select an open lane and choose OK.  

8. Sign in to your Sportsman account (if prompted).  

9. Confirm your reservation details:  

• No fee should appear (lap swim is included with membership) 

• Enter the number of swimmers (maximum of two per lane) 

• Use Additional Comments if you are teaching a private lesson 

10. Review the waiver, agree to the terms, and complete checkout.  

11. Your reservations can be viewed anytime under Facility Reservations in your account. 

Aquatic Center memberships are available to both Park Hill School District residents and non-residents. Standard rates provide membership privileges for open-lap swim during any of our open lap swim hours. All memberships are non-refundable. Membership does not include admission or participation in any of aerobic classes or swim lesson courses. Membership cards must be shown during check in.

Senior Citizens, age 80 and older, may come to open lap swim times for free.  We offer a discounted membership rate for Seniors 60 years of age and older.

Employees swim for free, along with one guest. Employee must be SWIMMING with their guest for their guest to have free entry.  

Active Duty and Military Veterans get $5 off a membership.

Pool Rules

1. Obey the lifeguards and manager on duty.  They are here for your safety and protection.
2. Complete showers must be taken before entering the water.
3. No walking across or swimming under the bulkhead.
4. No food or drink except water shall be taken onto the pool deck.  Please use the snack bar area or viewing area behind the glass windows instead.  No glass containers will be allowed on the pool deck.  This includes the bleachers.
5. Proper swimwear is required.  We do not allow any clothing with cotton fibers (including but not limited to: T-shirts, cut offs, gym shorts).
6. Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained.
7. The use of any tobacco products or alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
8. Profanity will not be tolerated.
9. United States Coast Guard approved life jackets will be the only recognized flotation safety devices and may not be used off the diving boards.  The Aquatic Center does not provide any flotation devices for patron use.
10. Any child requiring the use of a lifejacket must be within arm's reach of their parent/guardian at all times.
11. Children six years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
12. A lifeguard or coach must be present before entering the pool.
13. No running, pushing, shoving, rough play or dunking.
14. Throwing is not allowed.
15. No extended breath-holding activities.
16. No jumping into crowded areas.
17. Chewing gum will not be allowed in the pool.
18. Please do not allow the patrons to drink or spit the pool water.
19. Diving or doing flips from the side of the pool is prohibited.
20. No Jumping/diving from the starting blocks unless under the supervision of a certified coach.
21. Return kick boards and buoys to the kickboard shelf.  They are for competitive usage only.
22. Inner tubes must be see through.

Diving Board Rules

1. Refer to the diving rules posted on the north wall in the diving well area.  No swimming or diving will be allowed in the diving well without a lifeguard or coach on duty in the diving well.
2. Do all flips, front dives and back dives off the diving boards only.
3. Only one person on the board at a time.
4. Be sure the diving board area is clear before diving.  The previous diver must be at the wall before the next diver is allowed to go off the board.
5. No jumping or diving from the sides of the boards.
6. No running on the diving boars.
7. Floatation devices may not be used on the diving boards.
8. Goggles must be removed before jumping off the diving board.
9. Double bouncing, hanging, handstands or springing from a seated position is prohibited.
10. The fulcrum must remain at the front of the board.  The fulcrum may be moved only with the permission of the pool manager or the diving coach.  At the end of practice the fulcrum must be returned to the front of the board.

Can I pay with a credit card? 

We now accept cash, card, and check for all fees at the Aquatic Center!

What happens when schools close for inclement weather? Do we get a refund on classes?

We are a facility part of the Park Hill School District, so when the district is closed, our building is closed as well. If your class is cancelled, you will receive a refund.

• If a class is canceled due to lack of enrollment.
• If a refund is requested at least 24 hours before the first class is held. 
• No refunds will be given after a class meets. Students assume the risk of changes in personal affairs or health.

Are there minimum class sizes?
We do require a minimum class size for each of our classes, but they do vary. 

Can I teach private lessons at the Park Hill Aquatic Center?
We allow private lessons at our facility.  Please sign-up for a lane as if you were going to swim laps.  A membership will be needed or daily admission paid for all participants entering the water.  We do not allow private lessons during group swim lessons. Please see below for when those classes are happening.

Why are there lane sign-ups?
We started doing as a precautionary measure during COVID restrictions, but we are keeping sign-ups due to patrons enjoying the ability to reserve a lane.

I noticed that there were openings at a certain time, can I walk in and use that lane?
Yes! Please try to sign up prior to your arrival, but if you do just walk in and we do have a lane open, please check-in at the front desk and we would be happy to get you signed up for that lane.

How soon before my assigned time can I show up?
You may enter the facility 15 minutes before your sign-up time. If you notice your lane is empty, check with the staff and make sure there is a lifeguard on duty before you hop in early. 

Do I need to check in when I arrive at the facility?
Yes, please check in with the front desk staff as you enter the facility. You will need to be signed in on our membership system or pay the admission fee. 

Can only one person swim in each lane?
No, we encourage lane sharing so everyone can have an opportunity to get in a lane. 

Do I have to be in the water if my child wants to swim?
If your child is 8 years old or younger, a parent or guardian must be in the water with the child. Parent/guardians will need to remain on the pool deck supervising children who are aged between 9-13 years.

Will the diving boards be open?
Yes, unless Twisters Dive Team is practicing. You will need to reserve lane 2 in the Diving Well in order to use the diving boards. Ask the lifeguards prior to going off the diving boards.

Can I bring floaties?
Yes, however inner tubes must be see-through so our guards can see potential dangers under and behind the tube.  Noodles are also welcome.  Lifejackets and Coast Guard certified Puddle-Jumpers are optimal, but still require adult supervision.  If a child is unable to swim on their own, they must have an adult in the water with them.

By completing the program, swimmers will learn all four competitive strokes: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly, with proper technique. More advanced swimmers are grouped by ability to ensure they receive an appropriate challenge and progress. Students should wear a swimsuit and bring a towel; goggles that cover only the eyes are optional, while full-face mask goggles are not permitted.

The first three years of life are a critical time for growth and development, and swimming is often a child’s first organized activity. This class creates a joyful, positive introduction to the water for both parent and child. At least one parent must be in the water with their child to ensure comfort and safety.

Requirements: Children must be three years old or younger. Swim lessons are available for ages four and up.

This program helps swimmers, age 6-18, refine technique in all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, while building endurance through lap swimming. Starts and turns for each stroke are introduced as part of the conditioning process.

Prerequisites: Swimmers must be able to swim freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke with proper rhythmic breathing, kick, and stroke technique for at least one width of the pool and have a basic understanding of the butterfly stroke.

• Wednesday Evenings from 7:30-8:30pm for 4 weeks
• Saturday Mornings from 12:00-1:00pm for 4 weeks

Designed specifically for adults, this class is ideal for beginners who want to feel more comfortable in the water and for experienced swimmers seeking to refine their stroke technique. Our instructors provide personalized guidance in a supportive, stress-free environment to help you build confidence and skills at your own pace.

We are updating our rental fees for birthday parties and specialty events starting July 1st!

Our pool is available for birthday parties (35 swimmers or less) during open swim hours on Saturdays from 2-5pm, or on Sundays 1-3pm. There is an optional $25 table rental fee for tables to be setup for you in our viewing room. 

Full facility rentals for birthday parties or other specialty rentals are available on Friday and Saturday evenings 7-9pm. For a full facility rental, there is also a utility charge for after-hours, but the tables setup in the viewing room are included in the rental fee.
